Vondel Ray Feltner, age 84, resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on January 9, 1933 in Lykins, Kentucky to the late Ed and Minnie (Ferguson) Feltner. Vondel served in the US Air Force, during the Korean War, and later retired from R.R. Donnelly and Sons as a stamper operator. He was an active member of the Temple of God in Shelby and a member of the Woody Ridge Golf Course for many years. He loved fishing, hunting, but most of all, golfing.
He is survived by his best friend and fiancé, Doris Miller of Willard; 6 sons, James (Cindy) Voorhees of Republic, Rodger (Tanya) Voorhees of Port Clinton, Daniel (Joan) Voorhees of Vermilion, Billy Ray Feltner of Columbus, Terry (Sandy) Feltner of Willard, David Feltner of Wellington; 4 daughters, Patricia (Fred) Mathis of Fremont, Judy (Mike) Govig of Tennessee, Teresa (Dannie) Faircloth of Willard, Vonda (Mike) Williams of Shelby; 27 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Jerry (Charles) Duncan of Shelby, Sandi (Bill) Bartley of Willard; 4 brothers, Roy (Nora) Feltner of Avon, Linville (Loretta) Feltner of Shelby, Jimmy (Marion) Feltner of Mansfield, Eddie (Joyce) Feltner of Mansfield; and a brother in law, Harold Gray of Shelby.
In addition to his parents, Vondel was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Metzger) Feltner; a daughter, Deborah Windsor; a son, Steven Wade Feltner; a grandson, Mark Mathis; 2 brothers, Charles Lee Feltner and Harold D. Feltner; and 2 sisters, Imogene Barnett, and Margie Gray.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor George Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven.
