Curtis Laferty, age 64, resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at his home. He was born on February 2, 1948 in Ripley Township in Huron County, Ohio to the late Lonnie and Poppie (Shepherd) Laferty and had been a Willard area resident all his life. He was a graduate of South Central High School and was retired from MTD in Willard.
He is survived by his companion of 25 years, Janet Lindsey, with whom he made his home; three daughters, Melissa (Joseph) Morrow of Monroeville; Tammy Backensto of Oberlin; and Tanya (Donald) Walker of Walton, KY; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; ten siblings; Hancer Laferty of New Haven; Ocie Collins of Castalia; Arthur Laferty of Crestline; Joshua Laferty of Tiro; Marie Yontz of Bayview; Jossie Furr of Kentucky; Effie Voltz of Kentucky; Mitchell Laferty of Kentucky; Linda Smith of Norwalk; and Barbara Wagner of Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters, Tincy Grimes and Sarah Alice Haines; and a brother Ottis Laferty.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Secor Funeral Home in Willard assisted the family with arrangements. Online condcolences can be made at www.secorfuneralhomes.com

Jan, when hearing of Curt’s passing today it brougt sadness and heart break. But, then it brought smiles, laughter, memories, and thoughts of good times we all shared for many years at the campground and during family gatherings at your moms house! Curt will be truly missed! We love you!
