Donald J. Heisler, age 94, of Willard, Ohio passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. He was born on February 25, 1920 in Willard to Carl and Cora (Robinson) Heisler. Donald was a farmer and the head custodian at Willard Jr. High School. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, a member of the Willard Grange and enjoyed the 8 years that they lived in Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice (Moomaw) Heisler whom he married on November 29, 1941; 2 daughters, Linda (Mike) Veletean of Willard and Janet (Roger) Hines of Willard; 1 son, Mark (Pam) Heisler of Carmel, IN; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by daughter Carol Lynn Heisler; parents Carl and Cora (Robinson) Heisler; 5 sisters, Gertrude Heisler; Bernice Heisler; Catherine Klingelsmith; Mildred Davis; Margaret Bollinger and 3 brothers Robert Heisler, Russell K. Heisler and William “Bill” Heisler.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home on Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 1:00-3:00 PM. A funeral service will be at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard at 11:00 AM with Pastor Roger Thompson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church. To Don’s family, so sorry to hear of his passing. It is hard losing a parent. I remember him working at the school and lived across from the Jr. High. It has been years since I have seen him. He was such a sweet man. He is in a place of no pain. Will keep you in my prayers in this difficult time. R.I.P.
