Ralph R. Roland, age 79, of Willard, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Stein Hospice in Sandusky. He was born on August 23, 1934 in Auburn, IN to Ralph and Lena (Nelson) Roland. He was retired from Clevite in Milan where he was a CNC Machinist. Ralph enjoyed woodworking, was a member of the American Legion and coached his children in little league baseball. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, former Helen Heisler to whom he married on August 27, 1955; 4 children, Barbara (Doug) Hoffman of Ashley, IN; Gregory (Beth) Roland of Willard, OH; Cheryl (Steve) Butler of Willard, OH and Richard (Heidi) Roland of Port Clinton, OH; 6 grandchildren, Amie (Scot) Loeffler, Josh (Heather) Roland, Kera (Jeremy) Kiser, Chad Butler, Alexandra Hoffman and Heath Horn; 7 great grandchildren, Luke and Alexis Loeffer; Jena, Gracie and Brendan Keiser; Kylie and Noah Butler; 3 brothers and sisters, Al (Shellie) Roland, Fairy Stomm and Diana Rowe; numerous nieces and nephews; beloved dog Sadie and cat Nosey; and wonderful friends and neighbors, Tim and Sandy Gilmore.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lena (Nelson) Roland; granddaughter Alyssia Hoffman and 4 sisters, Dawn Stoy, Bonnie Perry, Joan Hindman and Gloria Roland.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 PM and from 6:00-8:00 PM where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 with Pastor Doug Tackett officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Willard. Memorial contributions can be made to the Stein Hospice of Sandusky. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.secorfuneralhomes.com

Dear Cheri, Helen, and Roland family,
Please except our condolences on the passing of Ralph. So sorry we could not be there for you, but we did not hear until Tuesday that he had died. I remember meeting your dad a long time ago, but did not know him well. You will have to tell me stories the next time we are in Ohio.
God Bless and comfort all of the family…with the peace that passes all understanding.
Ralph was such a wonderful man. We will miss him so much. Prayers for comfort and peace to all of his family and friends he leaves behind. He is at peace now.

I am very sorry to learn of Ralph’s passing.
Wish that I could be home with you to share this solemn occasion, the heavy moments now in all hearts that miss and love him, yet trusting to be rejoined together at the Resurrection joy.
Thank you Helen for bringing Ralph into our lives! He’ll remain at peace here in my heart. Ralph always gave me his attention, and left me with the joy of having shared his presence, thoughts and delightful humor.

So sorry to hear of Ralph’s passing. I worked with him at Pioneer Rubber 40 years ago and he was an absolutely great guy. Excellent at his job, loved his family, great sense of humor and a good thinker. Rest in Peace.
