Born on December 9, 1919 in Mansfield, OH and a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1959, Jack W. Page passed away peacefully on October 11, 2014 at the age of 94. He is survived by his wife of nearly 72 years, Margery Hetsler Page; son, James and wife Marjorie of Albuquerque; daughter, Polly and husband Richard of Oro Valley, AZ; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his sister, Virginia Page Walker of Loudonville, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many extended family members. Mr. Page was preceded in death by his parents, George Reed and Helene Shields Page; his brother, David Reed Page; and his sister, Rosemary Page Harrington. Mr. Page was a US Army veteran of WWII having served in both the European and Pacific theaters. After the war he spent many years in the automobile business in Ohio before moving to Albuquerque and joining the family owned water conditioning business. He was especially proud of installing the first computerized commercial water conditioning system sold in New Mexico at the Albuquerque Veterans Hospital in 1974. In 1967-68 he served as president for the National Association of Servisoft Water Conditioning Dealers. He was an active member of Rotary International for over 60 years in clubs in Ashland and Ada, OH as well as Albuquerque. He was an avid Ham Radio Operator (KF5BD) and served several years as Treasurer for the Rotarians of Amateur Radio Fellowship. He also loved to travel in his Suburban and travel trailer and served as Registered Agent for the RV Fellowship of Rotarians for 14 years. He and his wife logged over 200,000 miles in the US, Canada, and Mexico, including traversing the Alaska Highway back when it was still gravel. Mr. Page was a member and former trustee of St Johns Methodist Church in Albuquerque.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014, 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH – Wyoming.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ashland Rotary Club Foundation or the Albuquerque Salvation Army. Burial will take place at Mt Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio, where he will be the fifth generation to rest there.
