Arlene A. Buss age 94, resident of Willard passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at the Willows at Willard Care Center. She was born on March 19, 1921 in Planktown, Ohio to the late Ira and Martha Jane (Striker) Backensto and had been a resident of Willard the majority of her life. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard. She enjoyed activities at the Willard Senior Center, crafts, bingo and mystery trips.
She is survived by her son, Rodney V. (Lorren) Backensto of Willard; 2 step-sons, Ronald (Barb) Buss of Harrisonburg, VA, and Robert Lee (Barb) Buss of Glasgow, KY; grandchildren; great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Lila Buss of Willard; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Milton R. Buss on November 25, 1991; a sister, Millie Jane (Leslie) Fellows; step-brother, Vernon Striker; sister in law, June Buss; and 4 brothers in law, Donald “Dutch” , Lorne, Claron and Homer Buss.
The family will receive friends at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard, Ohio on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Reverend Janet Wittenmyer officiating. Burial will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Willard. Memorial contributions can be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or Catholic Charities.
