Kyle W. Michaels, age 36, of New Haven, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026.  He was born on January 5, 1990, in Norwalk, Ohio, to Lori (Grimm) Thornton and Coy Michaels.  Kyle graduated from Wynford High School and had worked at Timken Co. in Bucyrus, O’Reilly Auto Parts in Willard and Wal-Mart in Norwalk.  He enjoyed collecting guns, automotive work, 3-D printing and was a camera enthusiast.

He is survived by his mother, Lori (Aaron) Thornton of Willard; father, Coy Michaels of Bucyrus; sister, Elizabeth Michaels of Bucyrus; brother, Jacob Michaels of Bucyrus; grandmother, Malinda Grimm of New Haven; uncle, Brian (Kim) Grimm of Shelby; aunt, Michelle Michaels of Galion; several cousins and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandpa, William Grimm; paternal grandparents, Michael and Sandra Michaels; and an uncle, Matthew Michaels.

Kyle made every room a little brighter. He knew how to make me laugh but always had something new to teach me as well. His quick wit, fun personality and kindness will truly be missed but remembering the smile he left in our hearts will always keep him close. I worked at Wynford Elementary School when Kyle was a student there. He was a great kid. He always had a smile on his face and was kind and polite to everyone. My deepest condolences go out to his family.

This was one of the nicest people I have ever met, When he worked at the parts store; he was very nice and smart. God has plans for you buddy, RIP. To his parents, you raised a great person and he will be missed.

I didn't know him that well, but he had helped me on multiple occasions at Oreillys and was a very nice young man. Every time I hear of someone I knew passing, especially if they were young enough to be my kid or grandkid it's like a hard sock in the gut. I'm very sorry for the loss

I had the chance to meet Kyle and see him almost everyday for over a year. He is so kind and one of the nicest people I have ever met. I’m truly saddened for this but so grateful I got the chance to know him. My heart goes out to you and your family.
