John Ignatius Bellman, 70, residing in Milan, passed away unexpectedly early Friday morning, July 17, 2026 at home.
John was born on November 2, 1955 in Willard, Ohio to the late Leon and Mary Ann (Mckenzie) Bellman.
John earned his Master of Science degree from Bowling Green State University and enjoyed a successful career as a Systems Analyst for many years.
In December 1991, John left Ohio and Michigan behind and embarked on a new adventure in Alaska with his future wife. He married Linda (Wryobeck) Murray on March 28, 1992, in Juneau, Alaska, where he worked for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Throughout their marriage, John and Linda made their home in Alaska, Arkansas, Tennessee, and eventually settled in Milan, Ohio.
John embraced life wholeheartedly, finding joy in spending time with family and friends, golfing, photography, and above all, music, which was his greatest passion. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, whether they were loved ones, coworkers, or complete strangers. His passion for music brought people together, his talent for photography inspired those around him, and his lifelong pursuit of improving his golf game reflected his determination and love of a challenge.
John was a dependable source of guidance and encouragement, always willing to lend a helping hand; whether answering a technology question, offering advice through life's changes, or supporting family and friends during difficult times. Above all, he had an extraordinary sense of humor that could brighten any situation. His wit and infectious laughter were among his most cherished qualities, providing comfort and levity to those fortunate enough to know him.
To Linda, John was the love of her life, her greatest companion, and her partner in every adventure. He filled each day with laughter, unwavering support, and unconditional love. To everyone who knew him, John will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, and genuinely good man whose warmth, generosity, humor, and love of music left a lasting impression. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
John is survived by his wife, Linda (Wryobeck) Murray; sisters, Jayne (Karl) Dille and Cheryl Teel; brother, Christopher Bellman. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, John Wyrobeck, Ed Wryobeck and Richard (Colleen) Wryobeck and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and brother-in-law, Larry Teel.
