Alma Kennard, age 90, resident of Melbourne, Florida and former Willard resident passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2004 in Homes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida. She was born May 3, 1914 in Hazard, Kentucky to the late John and Rebecca (Allen) Amburgy. Mrs. Kennard had been a Willard resident the majority of her life moving to in Florida in 1970, but returning to the Willard area from 1987 to 1992. She was saved at the Guinea Corners Church of God in Willard and attended the Freedom Christian Center in Melbourne, Florida. Mrs. Kennard was loving mother and grandmother to her family.
She is survived by four sons, Charles Bentley of Zanesville, OH; Paul Kennard of Georgia; Bob Kennard of Colorado; Gary Kennard of Willard; seven daughters, Jean Price of Virginia; Patti Slimak of Akron, OH; Judi Fortin of Colorado; Sheri Gaul, Bridget Kirkpatrick and Jami Perri all of Florida; 23 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; three brothers, Harold and Arnold Amburgy of Ohio; Ralph Amburgy of Kentucky; nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar Kennard in 1998; a daughter, Rosemary Kennard; three sisters, Minnie Turner, Stella Amburgy and Marie Horn.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Friday from 7-9 PM and on Saturday from 10 AM to noon where the funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM with Pastor Aaron Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven.
