Walter Bert Stumbo, age 78, resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2004 at the home of his daughter in Willard. He was born on July 20, 1926 in Martin, Kentucky to the late Walter and Lutie (Spurlock) Stumbo, and had been a Willard resident since 1997. Mr. Stumbo was a retired tool and die maker for Hourst Manufacturing in Plymouth, Michigan. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Navy and a member of the Plymouth American Legion.
He is survived by four daughters and a son-in-law, Diana and Donnie Moore of Willard; Jennifer Stumbo of Carbondale, IL; Janice Stumbo of Belleville, MI; and Beverly Hersey of Newport News, VA; one son and a daughter-in-law, Keith and Kathy Stumbo of Ypsilanti, MI; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Esta Mae Stumbo on June 20, 2004; one son, Bert Stumbo; one grandson, Bert Moore; one sister, Emma Jean Stumbo; and one brother, Bill Hampton Stumbo.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Sunday from 5-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Don Beverly officating. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven. Memorials can be made to the American Lung Association.
