Almeda D. Francis, age 76, of Rome, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 11, 2021. She was born on February 2, 1944 to the late Winford and Tressie (Amyx) Oney.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved having cookouts. Her hobby was going shopping. No matter what the weather, she was always ready to shop! She loved all the latest fashions and decorating her house. Almeda was always young at heart. She was a very loving and caring person.

Almeda is survived by her three children, Kimberly (Alex) Cheng of Tampa, Florida, Shoni Francis Trammel of Powder Springs, Georgia and Gregory (Tracey) Francis of Gallatin, Tennessee; three sisters, Brenda (Dave) Poffenbaugh of Shiloh, Ohio, Charlotte (Larry) Kamann of Plymouth, Ohio, and Sharon Detterman (Dave Harvey) of Mansfield, Ohio; four brothers, Eugene Oney of Lodi, Ohio, Oral Oney of Shelby, Ohio, Lowell (Kathie) Oney of Arcadia, Florida, and Wayne (JoAnn) Oney of Ontario, Ohio; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Almeda was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Francis; and nephews, Brian Hardin and Gregory Oney.

The family of Almeda would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to her caregiver, Ruby Combs, and Hospice of North Central Ohio for all their time and special care they gave our sister. Thank you!

Due to Covid-19, there will be no public services held at this time. There will be a private graveside service at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio. Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth is assisting Almeda’s family with arrangements.
