Ann T. Phillips, age 86, of New Washington, Ohio passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014. She was born June 12, 1928 in New Washington. She was formerly employed at Ohio Bell in Tiffin. She was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society in New Washington. Ann enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards and games, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and baking cookies.
She is survived by a daughter Patricia (Timothy) Mantey of Marion; 3 sons, Lou Phillips of Newark, Dr. Nicholas (Elizabeth) Phillips of Galion and Daniel (Lisa) Phillips of New Washington; 17 grandchildren; one great grandchild; a sister, Esther Tracht of Norwalk and a sister-in-law Alta (Edward) Weithman of Columbus.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jerome A. “Jerry” Phillips, who died Aug. 8, 1996 and whom she married Sept. 5, 1953; a daughter, Nancy (Richard) Phillips; parents, Edward and Anna M. (Roettgen) Weithman; 2 sisters, Rita Weithman and Mary Niedermeier; 2 brothers, Joseph Weithman and Edward Weithman Jr.
Visitation will be at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at 10:30 AM at St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington, with Fr. Eric Culler officiating with Fr. Fred Schill assisting. Burial will be at the St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in New Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bernard Catholic Church or to the St. Bernard School Endowment Fund.
