Anna Howell, 81, of Willard, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at her home. She was born on April 19, 1924 in Perry Co., Ohio to the late Homer and Ina (Wiggins) Storts and had been a resident of Willard most of her life, spending her winters in Avon Park, FL. She was a 1942 graduate of Moxahala High School with honors. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Willard, the Willard Country Club and the Pinecrest Golf Club in Sebring, FL. Ann was an avid golfer scoring two holes-in-one in her lifetime. One at Broadwater Golf Club in Biloxi, MS and one at the Willard Country Club on the same day her brother, Bob, also scored a hole-in-one.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Walter (Dixie) Howell; a daughter, Carolyn (Roger) Ruckman of Mansfield; a son, Greg (Bernadette) Howell of Brandon, FL; grandchildren, Brent Ruckman of New Albany, Kristin Brake (Nathan) of Fredericktown, Jason Ruckman of Columbus, Jennifer Howell of Mansfield, Jeremy Howell of Shelby, and Jay Howell of Brandon, FL; great grandchildren, Sarah and Raini Worthington, Devyn and Peyton Brake, and Haili Holzworth; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Ruth Hoops of New Lexington, Mrs. Claire LaTour of Westerville, Betty (Paul) Clark of Lancaster, Rod (Ima) Storts of Plant City, FL, and Chuck (Jo) Storts of Willard; and sisters-in-law, Rose Storts of Melbourne, FL and Mrs. Elsie Storts of Mason.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Darryl, Vernon, and Robert.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Monday, December 19, 2005 from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM, with funeral services at 11:30 AM with The Rev. James Ellis officiating. Interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Memorial expressions may be made to Stein Hospice.
