Arlen Roose, age 86, lifelong resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at The Willows at Willard. He was born on January 30, 1927 in Willard, to the late Arthur and Edna Mae (Yarman) Roose. Arlen worked at Midwest Industries as a shipping clerk for 25 years. His main hobby in life was wood working, with his specialty being bird houses. Arlen loved to tell jokes to anyone he met. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Arlen is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Thelma (Rosier) Roose; three daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and David Hauser of Clemmons, North Carolina, Cindy and Randy Hartman of Willard, and Joni and Tom Secor of Willard; six grandchildren, Beth (Adam) Barrington, Brent (Jillian) Hauser, Jocelyn and Jenna Secor, and Chloe and Cara Hartman; one great granddaughter, Remy Barrington; two sisters-in-law, Julianne Roose and Pat Metzger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two sisters, Joyce Frazee and Dorene Stentz; four brothers, twin brother Marlen, LaMar, Dallas and Warren Roose; and one brother-in-law, Richard Rosier.
Friends may call on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM, where Rev. Roger Thompson will officiate. Burial will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Huron County Humane Society. passing. I always enjoyed bumping into you folks! Enjoyed just talking with him, he was always happy, it seemed. Lot’s of people will miss him. I know the Lord will look after you, Thelma. Barb feels the same as I. 60 years of marriage.
