Arlene V. Bechtel, age 87, resident of New Washington, Ohio passed away Sunday, November 14, 2004 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. She was born March 11, 1917 to Edward and Louisa (Durwald) Kreim and had been a life long New Washington resident. Mrs. Bechtel was a retired clerk from the former Shelby Mutual Insurance Company and a homemaker. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth A. and Ray J. Sifferlin of Columbiana, OH; and Janice M. and L. Eugene Wurm of New Washington; five grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; three brothers, Virgil Kreim of Tiffin; John Kreim and Gerald Kreim both of New Washington; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Arvilla Karl, Catherine Kempf and Esther Kriem all of Shelby; Dolores and Walter Tackett of Willard; nieces nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Bechtel on March 19, 2002; two brothers, Joseph and Richard Kreim.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington on Wednesday from 9 to 10:30 A.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wed.at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in New Washington, with Father Robert Dendinger officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorial expressions can be made to St.Bernard’s Catholic School Endowment or the donor’s choice.
