He is survived by his wife Linda (Knight) Franks, whom he married December 24, 1959, daughter, Cindy (Ron) Houpt of Newark and son, Scott (Robin) Franks of Fairborn. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren Jenne, Ashley, Whitny, Laura, Josh and Sarah along with 11 great grandchildren and one on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Pat (Charles) Owens of Bellevue and nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Franks and mother, Arcie (Davis) Franks Dennis and step-father, Benny Dennis and a baby sister.

Per Clete's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House. Please accept the family's invitation to share your thoughts and memories about Clete on the Secor Funeral Home website www.secorfuneralhomes.com.

I am so sorry to lose another cousin especially one as close as my cousin, Cledith, and our family was for so many years. My dad, his uncle. We had many good times and especially enjoyed sharing our family history. I had many questions to ask and did not get a chance to do that. It is important to not waste time in life as it passes quickly. Love to all the family.

I am so sorry to hear that Cledith passed. I was in his class at Bellevue High School. Before covid arrived, some of our classmates would gather for lunch at Twin Lakes in Bellevue. We hoped to be able to get together in the future and are sorry that Cledith will not be with us. Linda, we will miss your presence as well. I enjoyed your stories of driving the team bus.

Unc was simply a joyful soul. For decades we shared the love of camping and so many laughs. I can see him and Linda, walking up towards our campsite with Aunt Pat and Uncle Chuck...all carrying their chairs and smiling. Those 4 were always a welcome sight when we arrived at camp. My heart is smiling thinking of our camp adventures. He was so much fun. So much fun. I remember he would always stop to see me at C & S Printing when he stopped by. Always smiling and a chuckle. Just the kindest man, do loving and brought joy to everyone who had the honor of crossing his path. He didn't know a stranger. I'll miss you buddy. Christy
