Colin Matthew Studer, age 18, resident of New Washington, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. He was born on September 3, 1996 in Fostoria, Ohio to Matthew S. and Tammy L. (Crum) Studer and had been a life long New Washington resident. He had attended Buckeye Central Schools and most recently the Seneca County School of Opportunity.
He is survived by his parents; a sister, Emma; maternal grandmother, Nancy Crum of Bucyrus; paternal grandparents, Ken and Marilyn Studer of Tiro; an uncle, Dominic (Mandy) Studer; four aunts, Jennifer (Terry) Studer-Miller; Jill (Kevin) Heydinger; Jessica Hollins; and Tina (Steve) Seiler; paternal great grandmother, Mildred Kin; and numerous cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Glen Crum; maternal great grandparents, Donald and Helen Crum; and paternal great grandfather, Eugene Kin.
Colin had a love for life and for people. His number one hobby was watching and attending any sporting event especially when his sister was participating. The Buckeye Central Bucks, the OSU Buckeyes, Cavs, Indians, and Browns were his favorites! WQEL phone board, coaches corner, and Davey Jones made Colin smile. He loved going to school and attending Holy Trinity Catholic church. Colin was very excited to enter his vegetables at the Crawford County Fair, and he also looked forward to being at all of his sister’s 4-H events. Going out to eat was another one of Colin’s favorite activities. Pisanellos, Rader’s Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream, and Applebees were his favorite places. Colin was the Chatfield Halloween King, BC Freshman homecoming attendant, and most recently was elected student council president at school. Colin was in BC FFA and was the co-founder of the muffin business at BC. He worked at Richard’s Landscaping, Bucyrus YMCA, and The Carlisle Place during the summers. Colin had a special love for his long time caregiver, Tonia. He enjoyed going on bike rides, 4-wheeler rides and most importantly just being around his family and friends. Colin will be most remembered for his infectious smile, laugh, and love of life, and would want us to live out his legacy by greeting everyone with a smile!
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 1:00 to 8:00 PM at the St. Bernard Catholic School Gymnasium in New Washington, Ohio. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Father John Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery in North Auburn, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Colin Studer Scholarship Fund for his sister, Emma at Citizens Bank in New Washington or any other Citizens Bank branch. Matt,Tammy & Emma,
What can I say that hasn’t already been said. Colin was one of Gods special people. His smile and laughter could light up a whole gym, as we all know, Anyone who might have been having sad thoughts would loose them real soon when Colin smiled. He was Gods gift to us all. We will be praying for you, in the time to come, that god will give you strength and comfort. Anything we can do, just call.

Tammy, Matt, Emma, and family, it is with deepest sympathies that we write in remembrance of Colin. Al agrees that Colin was a joy in my classroom. I loved his jokes and our morning chats at the classroom door, and our strolls down the hallway. I say he taught the teacher. He taught me to live each day, to greet everyone with a smile and to laugh…laugh out loud from deep down inside. He is infectious. May God wrap you all in His loving arms and give you peace, hope, comfort, and rest. Lifting prayers.
Colin Studer’s Family .

To all of you who loved Colin words are hard to say because he was loved by many. Your family gave Colin one of the most awesome lives any family can give their child. Please keep those happy memories of his special smile and giggles close through these next days. We all loved him and will miss him but Heaven gained a very special angel whose smile will keep the other angels smiling. God Bless you Tammi and Matt and Emma. Dick and Lorna Ackerman and boys
