Darrell Omer Lewis, age 79, resident of rural Shiloh, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on July 18, 1934 in Yocum, Kentucky to the late Omer and Myrtle (Cassidy) Lewis. Mr. Lewis was employed with AK Steel in Mansfield and retired after 29 years of service. His passion was his horses and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to country music and watching the Cleveland Indians.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancy (Dyer) Lewis whom he married on June 18, 1954; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Darel Webb of Ashley, OH; and Regina and Dan Montgomery of Mansfield; a granddaughter and spouse, Dana and James Wells of Mansfield; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Drexall Lewis of West Liberty, KY; and Robert and Judy Lewis of Port Richey, FL.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Bernie Lewis in 1978.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio on Monday, April 14, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio. Online condolences can be made at www.secorfuneralhomes.com
