Dave Laney Jr, age 76, resident of Shiloh, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at his residence. He was born on December 27, 1935 in Whitehouse, Kentucky to the late Dave Sr. and May (Smith) Laney and had been a Shiloh resident since 1964. Mr. Laney had been employed with the former Plymouth Locomotive for 47 years.
He is survived by his three sons, David (Jeanette) Laney of Shiloh, Terry (Tammy) Laney of Willard, and Richard Laney of Shiloh; one daughter, Debra (Ronald) Burton of Shiloh; twenty one grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four brothers, Joe (Johnnie) Laney of Chesterville, OH; James Laney Chesterville, OH; Robert (Diane) Laney of Shiloh; and Hobert Laney of Paintsville, KY.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Millie Laney; a son, Jeff Laney; three sisters, Daisy Tackett, Mary Castle and Cordilla Laney; and two brothers, Edward and Wade Laney.
Visitation will be held at the Ripley Chapel Free Pentecostal Church of God on Friday, July 20, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM where the funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM with Reverend Ricky Branham officiating. On behalf of the Plymouth Shiloh Food Pantry volunteer staff and client families, I want to offer our deepest sympathies to the Laney family. We shall miss Dave’s sweet smile and his pleasant visits. Know that you are all held in our prayers and thoughts.
My heart,prayers and thoughts are with the family. Uncle John will surely be missed by many. He was like a second dad to me. Growing up around his house was such a great pleasure. Uncle John is with my dad and aunt Millie and the rest of our loved ones in Heaven now and is watching over us. I love and miss you very much Uncle John.
