David L. George, age 70, of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011 at his home. He was born on January 17, 1941 in Willard to the late William and Sarah Bertha (Rhees) George. He owned and operated his own business, David George Construction. He was a member of Steuben Congregational Church. David loved his dogs, cooking and being with his family.
David is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Bowmar) George, whom he married on July 16, 1959; five daughters, Deborah (Bernie) Kaufmann of Shelby, Dianne (Kevin) Steinmetz of Willard, Darla (Dee) Graber of Ashland, Dana (Bill) Overmyer of Willard and Dawn (Greg) Ousley of Willard; ten grandchildren, Joshua, Carly, Kyle, Robert, Sandi, Skylar, Kate, Norman, Cassidy and Nicki; four great grandchildren, Carson, Gavin, Madalynn and Maliyah; three sisters, Florence Megna of Clarksville, Tennessee, Margaret Funk of Willard and Beverly Riggin of Willoughby Hills, Ohio and one brother, Glen George of Willard.
He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Christina Kaufmann, sister, Rosemary Barber and three brothers, William, Kenneth and Jack.
Friends may call on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the funeral home at 11:30 AM with Pastor Patti Welch officiating. Burial will follow at Greenfield Township Cemetery in Steuben, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to the Steuben Congregational UCC Church. www.secorfuneralhomes.com.

I am so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. I have such good memories of him helping us on our house on Myrtle, his crazy sense of humor and of course knowing all the girls and you, Carol. We are thinking of you and hope you find comfort with one another and the love of friends at this time.

So sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. It has been quite some time since I have seen Dave, but I am sure he never cahnged. I have many fond memories of 30+ years ago working with Dave hanging drywall and also working at the drive thru. He was always a joy to be around.
