Denise Deppen, born July 25, 1955, passed away on May 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of family near and far. She was a devoted wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, aunt, and sister whose life was centered on caring for those closest to her.
Denise is survived by her husband, Robert Deppen, with whom she built a life spanning more than 50 years, and her six children: Heather, Tim, Tina (Shawn), Kelly, Kyle (Brittany), and step‑daughter Melissa (Michael). She was also a proud grandmother of five—Evan, Brennen, Brayden, Gavin, and Ivan—a role she cherished deeply, as well as a devoted fur‑ma to Barley, Precious, Sibastian, and Tuxx. Her family was her greatest joy, and she treasured every conversation and moment shared with her children, grandchildren, and beloved pets.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bonnie and Harry Pfirsch; her parents‑in‑law, Catherine and Burton Deppen; her treasured dogs, Elsa, Oliver, Sally‑Jo, and gran-dog Flash.
Denise found peace and happiness tending to her gardens, flowerbeds, and animals on the farm, where her care and patience were always evident. She enjoyed camping with her husband and friends, creating lasting memories through time spent outdoors. At home, she expressed her creativity through arts and crafts, shared her love through cooking for family and friends, and could often be found cheering on Ohio State football, a pastime she truly enjoyed.
Throughout her adult life, when she was not raising her children, Denise gave back generously to her community. She volunteered for 24 years as a 4‑H Advisor with The Clover Patch Kids 4‑H Club, was an active member of the Community Minded Fair Supporters Committee, served as a Huron County Fair volunteer, and was honored with the 1998 Willard FFA Honorary Degree in recognition of her dedication and service.
In addition to her devotion to family and community, Denise spent nearly 30 years at Lakeside Book Company / R.R. Donnelley & Sons in Willard, Ohio, where she worked until her retirement.
Denise will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her commitment to community, and the steady, loving presence she provided to all who knew and loved her.
Denise’s calling hours will be Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio and also on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Secor Funeral Home with the funeral service Friday at 11:00 AM.  The burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Willard.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.   Online condolences may be made to the Denise’s family at www.secorfuneralhomes.com.

I’m very sorry for your loss. Losing a mother is an immeasurable loss, and I know how difficult this time is for the family. I didn't know her personally, but I do work with Tim for many years. He has been a wonderful example of strong values and giving of himself to help others. I'm sure she was the same. Please know that you are in my thoughts. Your mother’s love and the relationship you shared with her will always remain a part of you. Wishing you comfort, strength, and peace in the days ahead.
