Denise M. Pflieger, age 65, resident of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on November 16, 1957 in Bucyrus, Ohio to Franklin R. and Rose M. (Wise) Fisher.
A Buckeye Central High School graduate, Denise went on to attend and graduate from Columbus Technical College. She worked in the labs within a hospital setting for 42 years. She loved visiting the lake but most of all, cherished time she spent with her family.
Denise is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Dean Pflieger; two children, Lindsay (Jason) Collins and Tyler Pflieger; three grandchildren, Emma and Lucy Collins and Mason Pflieger; mother, Rose M. Fisher; four siblings, Laura (Bill) Marcum, Cindy (Cliff) Alt, Shelley (Tim) Ehrman and Rick (Teri) Fisher; brothers-in-law, Don (Dorthea) Pflieger, Tom Pflieger, John (Stephanie) Pflieger and Dave (Michelle) Pflieger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Franklin R. Fisher; niece, Courtney Fisher; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernie and Ann Pflieger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington, Ohio at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in New Washington. Dean and Family, I worked with Denise years ago in the lab at Bucyrus Community Hospital. She was one of my favorite people ever and I was so sad when you folks moved away. Now, learning of her passing, I am brokenhearted for all of you. Denise will always be remembered as one of the warmest, sweetest, kindest ladies I have ever known. She was absolutely wonderful to work with. My greatest pleasure was working weekends with her!! Even though our paths haven't crossed in decades, I thought of her often. I am so sorry to read about Denise's death. She and I worked at Bucyrus Community Hospital in the early 80's. I worked 3-11 in the ER as an EMT and I remember Denise in the Lab. She was a sweet kind person. I will keep the family in my prayers.
