Donald Craig Appellof, age 76, has had a change of address, having passed from his earthly home to his heavenly home on April 28, 2013. Don was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Eric and Alice (Craig) Appellof on April 22, 1937. As a child Don was invited to a Bible Club and there met his best friend whose name is Jesus Christ. As a young man Don became a skilled electrician working for R.R. Donnelley and Sons in Willard for over 40 years. After retiring Don continued to help all who asked. He was also a student of the Word of God and taught it with great skill. Don will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 29 1/2 years, Mary (Morrow) Appellof whom he married on November 19, 1983; his six children and their spouses, Sharon and Ron Yamane; Sue and Dan Macke; Paul Appellof; David and Missy Appellof; Daniel and Elizabeth Appellof; and Donnamarie and Kaleb Packer; two step children and their spouses, Adam and Kelly Wyandt; and Michele and Doug Mayton; along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio from 2:00 to 4:00 PM where the funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM with Reverend Steve Sickel officiating. Burial will take place on Friday at the Cedar Park Cemetery in Calumet Park, Illinois. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Willard Hope Center. Mrs. Appellof ~ I want to extend my sympathy to you and your family. I am the widow of Tim Seibert, long time R. R. Donnelley Employee. Tim had worked there since September 16, 1968. I remember Tim Mentioning and working with Don. Im sure Don had pride in the work that he did for the company too. Tim’s been deceased since December 3, 2001. Take care and God bless.
