Donald E. Hess, age 77, life-long resident of Shiloh, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Willard, Ohio. He was born on January 23, 1944, in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Gaither and Lola (Bise) Hess. Don was a 1962 graduate of Plymouth High School and had retired from AK Steel in Mansfield. He was a proud member of the United Steelworkers Local 169 and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, working in the barn, taking care of the farm, raising horses and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
Left to cherish Don’s memories are his wife, Alma (Caudill) Hess whom he married on November 19, 1963; son, Brian Hess of Shreve, OH; daughter, Dawn (Kris) Kucinic of Shiloh, OH; grandchildren, Britney Garcia, Brianna Wicker, Beverley Sebolt, Brooke Tackett, and Mallory Kucinic; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Virginia Faye Adkins and Gary Hess; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Leeman Hess, Billy Hess and Helen Hess.
Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM where his funeral service will be on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Glenn Phillips officiating.
