Robert "Bob" Laney, age 76, of Shelby, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, November 04, 2021. He was born on February 23, 1945, in Whitehouse, Kentucky, to the late Dave and Mae (Smith) Laney. Bob attended the Highest Praise Church in Shelby and retired from Plymouth Locomotive Works in Plymouth. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, hunting and most of all, spending time with his family.
Left to cherish Bobs memories are his wife, Diana P. (Gibson) Laney, whom he married on December 1, 1968; children, Tracy (Michael) Simons of Shiloh, OH and Tim (Rusty Burrows) Laney of Shelby, OH; grandson, Alex Simons of Shiloh, OH; brother, Joe Laney; special niece, Linda Spears; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his siblings, Ed, John, Hobert, Mary, Cordilla, Daisey and James.
Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 11:00 AM until the time of his funeral service at 1:00 PM with Pastor Sharon Kilgore officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to North Central Ohio Hospice.
