Donald E. Hagerman, age 77, formerly from Willard, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at Woodlawn Nursing Home in Mansfield. He was born on May 15, 1928 in Wooster, Ohio to he late Raymond and Blanche (Bates) Hagerman and had been a resident of Mansfield since 1995. He was a graduate of Wooster High School. He formerly owned and operated the Hagerman Jewelry Store in Willard. He was an Army Veteran serving during WWII in Japan. He was a former member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard, a member of the Willard Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Rotary. He was a past master of the Golden Rule Lodge # 562 F&AM in Willard and the Mansfield American Legion Earl D. McVey Post #16.
He was survived by his wife, Patricia A. Hagerman, whom he wed on April 25, 1948; a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Patric Farrell of Ontario, Ohio; a son, Jim Hagerman of Philadelphia; five grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Carol (Hagerman) Avenshire of Kingland, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Stephen Hagerman; grandson, P.J. Farrell; brother, Eugene Hagerman; and niece, Mavis Wisecup.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Wilard on Monday, January 30, 2006 from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the First English Lutheran Church in Mansfield on Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Paul Larson and Pastor Lee Rupert officiating. Burial will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Willard. Memorial expressions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or to one’s favorite choice.
