Dorothy “Dotty” Irene Coburn, age 79, resident of Willard, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2008 at the Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on August 29, 1928 in Akron, Ohio to the late George C. & Erma A. (Rothman) Rager, and has lived most of her life in Willard. She retired as a secretary from the Pioneer Rubber Co. and MAPA in Willard, after 40 years of service. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Willard and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed the craft of needle point, reading and most of all her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” R. Coburn, whom she wed on Sept. 17, 1947; her son and daughter-in-law, Paul R. & Suzie Coburn of Newburgh, IN; daughter and son-in-law, Pauline R. & Donald Saul of Orlando, FL; 5 grandchildren, Bill Coburn of Marion, OH, Melissa and Julie Coburn of Newburgh,IN, Scott Edwards of Gainesville, GA, Stacey Saul of Orlando, FL; great grandson, Colton Jenkins of Newburgh, IN.
She is preceded in death by her parents George C. & Erma A. (Rothman) Rager and an infant grandson, Paul Coburn Jr.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Thursday, March 20, 2008 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Doug Winner officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Willard. Mr. Coburn, Paul and Pauline and family I was so sorry to hear about your loss. I wanted to send my prayers and love. All those good memories of up the lake , we were all like one big family there. I am so sorry to hear about your mom. We have a lot of good memories (from the summers at Mari-Dor Beach). She was a great lady. My prayers are with you . Hold on to each other . I was so saddened to hear of Dot’s passing. I have so many fond memories of working with her at Pioneer. We shared many laughs and she was always there for me with GOOD advise about kids, working, and life in general. I am sorry I cannot be there to honor her memory in person.
