Dusten Leo Dotson, age 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 10, 1941 to the late Ellis and Mildred (Patton) Dotson in Kenton, Ohio. Leo served in the Air National Guard for six years. He then earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University and was an Industrial Arts teacher at Willard High School for 21 years. Upon his retirement, he continued his lifelong passion of restoring classic cars. He also loved woodworking and traveling with friends and family. He was a member of the Willard Christian Alliance Church, the Car Coddlers of Ohio, former Hope Center Board Member and Fireland’s Operation Round Up Board and was a Richmond Twp. Trustee for 12 years.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pam (Caudill) Dotson, whom he married on April 30, 1966; daughter, Bethany Fox of Willard; son, Paul Dotson of Willard; 3 grandchildren, Ryan and Ellen Fox and Neelye Dotson; a sister, Gayle (Larry) Hershiser of Willard and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert F. “Dobbie” Dotson.
Visitation will be at the Christian Alliance Church in Willard, Ohio on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM where a service will be on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bart McKelvey officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio. Prayers to the family. Mr Dotson was my shop teacher in high school and we also went to the same church back in those days. He was one of the best teachers I had in school. I am sorry to hear of his passing. I had spoken to him a couple months back about some family history, old church friends and old classic cars. He was still full of that undeniable spirit that keeps us all going in hard times. RIP Mr. Dotson. See you again!
