Earnest Stumbo, age 71, resident of rural Shelby, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He was born on October 31, 1935 in Dona, Kentucky to the late Ray and Pricie (Gayhart) Stumbo and had been a a Shelby resident for 43 years. Mr. Stumbo had worked construction and retired from Carton Services in Shelby in 1998. He was a member of the Shiloh United Baptist Church and the R.C.C.H. Gun Club.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Eulena (Stumbo) Stumbo; a daughter and son-in-law, Annetta and Floyd Glick of South Lebanon, OH; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Eva Stumbo of Shiloh; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four sisters Estie Rodeheaver of Stryker, OH; Vanny Harris of Shelby; Vinie Bolen of Shelby; and Edith Crager of Shiloh; three brothers, Clifford Stumbo of Shiloh; Clifton Stumbo of Shiloh; and Matt Stumbo of Shelby.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by an infant son, John Day Stumbo; and two sisters, Freda Burks and Vestie Crouse.
Friends may call at the Penecostal House of Prayer Church on State Route 103 south of Celeryville on Friday from 4:00 to 9:00 PM where the funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM with Reverend Delmer Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to the family. Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth assisted the family with arrangements.
