Elva Gearhart, age 90, resident of Shiloh passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at her home. She was born on January 4, 1917 in Price, Kentucky to the late Morgan and Rosia (Moore) Stumbo and had been a Shiloh area resident since 1956. Mrs. Gearhart was a homemeker and a believer of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed fishing and camping.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Denzil and Josephine Gearhart of Shiloh; Martines Gearhart of Shiloh; Wendell and Brenda Gearhart of Willard; seven granddaughters; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two brothers, Bud and Gramvil Stumbo both of Price, KY; many nieces, nephews and other family members.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Butler Gearhart in 2004; a son, Izus “Otis” Gearhart; an infant daughter, Yvonnie; four brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Monday, May 21, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Elder Farris Tuttle officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio.
