Edward A. White passed away on May 16, 2016 in Pompano Beach, Florida. He was born in Shelby, Ohio August 7, 1935. He graduated from Buckeye Central High School in New Washington, Ohio in 1953. He graduated from Bluffton College in 1957 where he was very active in the business department. During his senior year, he was treasurer of his class, president of the investment club and business manager of the school newspaper.
After graduating from Bluffton, he joined the family business, The C.E. White Furniture store and The C. E. White Company. The C. E. White Company was a recreational seat manufacturer where he served as Secretary Treasurer, President and Chairman of the Board. He served nineteen years on the Board of Directors of the Farmer’s State Bank and eight years on the New Washington City Council. He loved the town of New Washington and cherished the memories from his “hometown”. He only wished he could’ve visited home more often over the last few years.
He is survived by his wife, Ann (married 49 years); his daughter, Laura Robertson and son in-law, Shane Robertson; two grandchildren, Tyler and Clayton who all reside in Idaho Springs, Colorado; his son, Scott White and daughter in-law, Sherri White; one grandchild, Alex who all reside in Slidell, Louisiana; a brother, Alan White; and a sister, Pam Latino.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton E. and Dorothy (Straub) White and a sister, Kay Eicher.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor John Wanamaker officiating. Burial will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
