Elena Flores, age 75, resident of Willard, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2005 at Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard. Elena was born on November 23, 1929 in Hebbronville, TX to the late Jose Angel and Gregoria (Ramirez) Saenz. Elena was a always generous, giving, happy and loving person. Traits she always proudly claimed she learned from her parents and siblings on the “ranchos” near Hebbronville, Texas. Mrs. Flores was a retired employee from MidWest Industries in Willard and was an active member of the Christian Alliance Church in Willard. She always looked forward to and saw church field trips and regular dinner gatherings as opportunities to share and enjoy her blessings with her dearest and closest friends. Elena’s legacy will be one of admiration and respect from the friends and family who always benefited from her dedication and her expressions of unconditional love.
She is survived by her three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ruben and Sue Flores of Willard, Ramiro and Darla Flores of Olmsted Twp. OH, and Roberto Flores of Fremont, OH; a daughter and son-in-law, Yolanda and Roger Mahl of Willard; ten grandchildren, Michael Flores, Stephanie and Kevin Goforth, Armando Flores, Alex Flores, Jessica Mahl, Brian Mahl, Mathew Mahl, Federico and Amanda Flores, and Marisa and Adam DeWitt; eight great grandchildren, Taylor, Emily, Michael Joseph, Caden, Logan, Addisson, Peyton, and Payne; a brother, Amando Saenz of San Antonio, TX; a sister, Ninfa Soliz of Hebbronville, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews in-laws whom she loved very much.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vivian Ruben Flores on September 27, 1987; a grandson, Justin on June 17, 1976; her parents; two brothers, Jose Angel and Eliseo Saenz; and a sister, Fidela Gutierrez; three nephews, Eliso Saenz, Jr., Jesus Solis, Jr. and Arturo Gutierrez, Jr.; and one niece, Olivia Sanchez.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Sunday, October 16, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the Christian Alliance Church in Willard on Monday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Richard Jueckstock officiating. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven.
