Ella M. Gray, age 66, resident of Willard, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in Mercy Hospital of Willard following a brief illness. She was born on April 8, 1942 in Bays County, Kentucky and had been a resident of Willard since 1952. She graduated from Willard High School in 1961. She attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Willard. She was a loving Christian wife, mother and grammie who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the best cook, gardener, sister and friend.
She is survived by her husband, Don Gray, whom she wed on October 12, 1963; two daughters, Pam (Chris) Schwan of Willard and Tami (Greg) Benedict of Lexington, Ohio; five grandchildren, Drayton, Emily, Harrison, William and Audrey; her mother; Grethel (Back) Sallee of Willard; eight brothers, Melvin (Joyce) Back of Florida, Frank (Norma) Sallee of Florida, Kelly (Mary) Sallee of Willard, Paul (Donna) Sallee of Florida, Ernie (Deb) Sallee of Shelby, Larry Sallee of North Fairfield, Donnie (Connie) Sallee of Willard, Dale (Vickie) Sallee of Crestline; three sisters, Jewel (Ellis) Sturgill of North Fairfield, Louise (Raymond) Adams of Willard, Bernita (Alvin) Weiss of Willard and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Oscar Sallee
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Friday, May 9, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Harry Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Memorial expressions may be made to Mercy Hospital of Willard Foundation. I send my love to you and the girls. Donnie you and Ella have always been there for us. You were there for me when I lost Chris, I wish I was able to be there for you. I do understand what you are going through right now and will be praying that God will ease your pain and that you will find some comfort. Donnie, Pammy and Tammy, I am so sorry to hear of Ellas passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and always. I have had many great times with Donnie and Ella and babysitting for Pam. I know we are never ready for a loved one to pass away and we never get over it, but think back and remember all the good times you have had with her and all the memories she has left you.
