Ettie Spencer, age 84, resident of Willard, passed away Monday, February 7, 2005 in Willard Mercy Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born August 29, 1920 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late George and Hulda (Johnson) Cook and had been a Willard resident since 1962. Mrs. Spencer was a member of the Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church in Plymouth and a was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting and gardening.
She is survived by 8 step-daughters and spouses, Coletta and Ray Bolen of McGuffey, OH; Ann and Bob Spradlin of McGuffey, OH; Linda and Mike Jones of McGuffey, OH; Patti and Jeff Henry of Willard; Gail and Dave Sowers of Willard; Muriel and Ron Johnson of West Liberty, OH; Betty and Chester Tuttle of West Liberty, OH; Ruth and Carl Howard of Lady Lake, FL; 3 step-sons and 2 spouses, J.C. and Dalphene Spencer of Morehead, KY; Obe and Reba Spencer of Melvin, KY; Darvin Spencer of Prestonsburg, KY; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Linda Hall of Dry Creek, KY; Sarah J. Tuttle of Grafton, OH; Betty Branham of Plymouth; 3 brothers, Willie Cook of Dry Creek, KY; Bobby G. Cook of Dry Creek, KY; Joe Cook of Virginia.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Spencer; 2 sisters, Nettie Hall and Hettie Hall; 4 brothers, William, Samuel, Johnnie and Lew G. Cook.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church in Plymouth with Elder Danny Carty officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio. Memorial expressions can be made to the Little Rebecca Church.
