James Frederick Cronau, age 78, of Foote St., New Washington, passed away Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005 at the MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield following a 6 month illness. He was born July 20, 1926 in New Washington, where he lived all of his life and was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church. He attended Capital University in Bexley, OH. He loved boating and airplanes. He was owner of Cronau Clothing Inc in New Washington.
He is survived by his wife, Helen J. (Sheley) Cronau, who he married Aug. 8, 1948; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Jefferson R. & Holly R. Cronau of Powell and John R. & Julie K. Cronau of New Washington; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Jeanette R. & John H. Jr. Winsor of Virginia Beach, VA and Jacqueline R. Cronau of Columbus; 5 grandchildren, Jeanette H. Winsor, Justin D. Cronau, Jessica R. Cronau, James W. Cronau and Elizabeth M. Cronau; brother, John Jefferson Cronau of Fairfield; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceeded in death by his parents, Justus & Ida P. (Kibler) Cronau.
Visitaion will be Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005 from 5-8 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington. The funeral service will be Wed. at 11:00 A.M. at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Washington, with Rev. Joseph Bartczak officiating. Burial will be at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in New Washington. Memorials may be made to the St. John’s Lutheran Church Window Fund.
