Eugene Lawrence, age 93, resident of Willard, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard, Ohio. He was born on March 21, 1922 in McGuffey, Ohio to the late Samuel and Olive Bessie (Hurlburt) Lawrence and had been a resident of the Willard area most of his life. He was formerly employed at Stambaugh Farms in Plymouth, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Goldie Lawrence; five children, John Lawrence of Willard; Barbara (Richard) Picklesimer of Willard; Shiela Taylor of Willard; Donald (Shawana) Lawrence of Willard; and Tina (Robert) Furr of Shelby; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Gayheart of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald Lawrence; two brothers, Clester (Bud) and Louis Lawrence; and three sisters, Ruby Coe, Ethel Amsler and Ruth Barthalamew.
Friends may call at the Willard Church of God on Willard West Road on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM where the funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM with Pastor Greg Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. A meal will be served at the church following the graveside service. Memorial expressions can be made to the Alzhiemers Association. Just wanted to say to the family of Eugene Lawrence that Uncle Gene was one of my favorite people to visit when I made it home to Willard. I know that words can’t take away the pain but know that he lived a long and happy life. I am so glad I made it home before his passing sometimes things happen for a reason, love you all Sandee

Donald and Shanana so sorry to see the passing of your father. We know the loss you are feeling and pray God will comfort and keep you in his loving arms during this difficult time.
