Evelyn M. Poland, age 81, of Willard, passed away Monday, July 26, 2004 at the Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard following a lengthy illness with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born on October 3, 1922, in Somerset County, PA, to the late Leroy and Mae (Egolf) Coughenour and had been a resident of Willard for the past 50 years.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Stover of Willard and one son, Robert Poland of Chesapeake Beach, MD. She is survived by three grandchildren, Brandon Stover, and Blake and Melody Poland. She is also survived by brothers, Tom, Donald and Robert Coughenour. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond (Ben) Poland and her parents, Leroy and Mae (Egolf) Coughenour. She was also preceded by her brothers, Paul and Winmer and sister Janet Coughenour.
Visitation will be Wed. from 6-8 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard. There will be a graveside service, Thursday at 11:00 AM, at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, with Rev. Kent Wilson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family who will make donations to the nurses and aides who cared for her during her illness.
