Genevieve A. (Heydinger) Kehres, age 102, resident of New Washington, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2006 in Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard. She was born on March 10, 1904 in Richland County to the late August & Mayme (Wechter) Heydinger. She was a member of the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in North Auburn and the Rosary Altar Society. She was a homemaker that enjoyed quilting, crocheting, playing cards and most of all, being with her family.
She is survived by seven sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Estella Kehres of New Washington; Carl and Annabelle Kehres of New Washington; Ben and Pauline Kehres of Tiro; Robert ‘Spark’ and Connie Kehres of New Washington; Kenneth and Rene Kehres of El Dorado, Kansas, Daniel and Lois Kehres of New Washington, and Fr. Franklin Kehres of Norwalk; one daughter, Sister Theresa Kehres O.S.F. of New Boston, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Barbara & John McKinley of Westerville; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Frank Heydinger of Norwalk and Raymond Heydinger of Shelby; a sister, Rita Studer of Mansfield.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis August Kehres on August 22, 1999; her parents; one son, Frederick Kehres; 3 brothers, Sylvester, Herbert and Clement ‘Nick’ Heydinger and 2 sisters, Sister Bernardine Heydinger O.S.U. and Helen Young.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington on Sunday, October 29, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M, with a prayer service at 4:00 P.M.. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 30, 2006, at the St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington, Ohio, with Fr. Frank Kehres officiating. Burial will follow at the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery in North Auburn, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Bernard-Mother of Sorrows School Endowment Fund.
