Floyd Hicks, age 94, resident of Willard passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at his home. He was born on March 18, 1912 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late William and Louise (Prater) Hicks and had been a Willard resident since 1949. Mr. Hicks was a laborer with the Norfolk and Western Railroad in Bellevue, Ohio retiring in 1977.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eunice (Moore) Hicks; five sons, Roger Shepherd Sr. of Monroeville; Thomas Hicks of Willard; Eddie Hicks of Willard; Clayton Hicks of Willard; three daughters, Mary Smith of Willard; Barb Hicks of Willard; Brenda Hicks of Attica; 18 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one brother, Willie Hicks of Ashland, KY; 2 sisters, Delphia Fryer of Ashland, KY and Margie White of N.C. and a half-brother, Burnis Hicks.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Ellen Shepherd, Anna Prater and Edna Prater; half brother, Edgar Hicks.
A graveside service will be held at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio at noon on Thursday, October 5, 2006 with Pastor Greg Griffith officiating. Memorial expressions can be made to the family.
