George Wynn Lydy, age 82, of Crestwood Dr., Willard, passed from death to life Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004 at his home. He was born Aug. 10, 1922 in Sandusky, OH and has lived in Willard most of his life. He attended the Willard Christian Alliance Church. He was a member of the Willard Flying Club, and had enjoyed being a pilot and aircraft mechanic for a long time. He was a W.W. II Veteran, where he was a member of the 8th Airforce and served in Polebrook, England. He loved flying, fishing and the outdoors, but especially loved his family and his Lord Jesus.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Evonne (Ritz) Lydy; 3 sons, Gary Wynn Lydy of Willard, Mikel D. Lydy of Mansfield and Brian B. Lydy of Indianapolis, IN; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister, Alice Buckingham of Willard.
He is preceeded in death by his parents, George H. & Eva M. (Winn) Lydy; 2 brothers, Jay Lydy and Bart Lydy.
A private memorial service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Willard. Memorials contributions can be made to the Radio Bible Class or the Mohican Outdoor School. Secor Funeral Home in Willard is in charge of arrangements.
