Glenn E. Salyer, age 70, resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH. He was born on March 10, 1938 in Salyersville, KY to the late Harmon and Lona (Honaker) Salyer and had been a resident of the Willard area most of his life. He was employee of the Whirpool Corporation in Clyde, Ohio. Glenn was member of the Faith Builders Church in Willard.
He is survived by his wife, Lacella Salyer; his son, Doyle Salyer of Willard; two stepsons, Charles and Chad Rowe of Willard; seven children; and three step grandchildren, brother, Wilbur Salyer of Norwalk and a sister Betty Powers of Middletown, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Salyer,; his daughter, Denise Salyer; his grandson, Chris Salyer; and a stepdaughter, Regina Hicks, great grandson, Adyn Salyer and his parents, Harmon & Lona (Honaker) Salyer; brother, Charles Salyer; a sister, Mae Patton; and an infant son, Earl Dean Salyer.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Monday from 5-8 P.M.. Funeral services will be held at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Freddy Rowe Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Willard. My sincere condolences to the family of Glenn Salyers. I knew him as a man that was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. He will be missed by all but most of all by those whose lives he touched with his generous gift of his time and efforts.
