Harold R. Gates, 86, of Willard, Ohio passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio after a short illness. He was born on August 18, 1932 in Havana, Ohio to the late Leo and Alberta (Bauman) Gates.
Harold worked and retired from CSX Transportation in Willard where he was a carman for 46 years. He very much enjoyed family gatherings and playing a friendly game of poker. He also enjoyed his farm and deer hunting.
He is survived by his children, Janet (Joseph) Androsac, Gerald Gates, and Jean (Dennis) Davis, all of Willard; granddaughter, Amanda (Dan) Bowser; great grandchildren, Nickolas and Allyson Bowser; half brother, Norbert Gates; and half sister, Deborah Gates.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Don and Richard Gates; and stepmother, Erma Gates.
