Helen ‘Grandma’ Smith, age 100, of Austin Dr., Willard, was called by Jesus to her heavenly home on Monday, Jan. 8, 2007. She went peacefully at home with her daughter, Myrna, at her side. She was born Jan. 4, 1907 in Frankfort, IN to the late John & Ethel (McClary) Brunswig. She was a member of the Willard Church of God on Willard West Road. She helped in the kitchen for many years at the Hi-Ho Restaurant in Willard. She enjoyed crafts and loved her family.
She is survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Griffis of Frankfort, IN, Mary & Jim Lewis of Fairmount, IN and Myrna & Ullis Dillman of Willard; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth & Jacquie Smith of Arizona; 20 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 41 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceeded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Smith; 2 daughters, Addie Mae Staley and Joyce Stimpson; 2 sons-in-law, Thomas Griffis and Robert Staley, 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.
Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 P.M. and Sat. from 10-11 A.M., at the Willard Church of God on Willard West Road, where the funeral service will be Sat. at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. David Martin officiating. Burial will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of God or the American Diabetes Assoc.
