Homer A. Moore, age 84, resident of Willard, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2008 in Willard Mercy Hospital. He was born on June 20, 1923 in Willard, Ohio to the late Ernest E. and Julia (Snyder) Moore and had been a resident of Willard all of his life. He was formerly an active member of the Willard Conservation League and worked as a carpenter. He attended the Christian Alliance Church in Willard, Ohio. He retired from Brunswick Defense in Willard. He was a US Army Veteran serving during World War II. Mr. Moore played for the Boston Braves.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Lewis) Kousma Moore; his two step sons, Jack (Donna) Kousma of Willard and Nick (Judy) Kousma of Lombard, IL; a step daughter, Joni (Kevin) Polachek of Willard; a granddaughter; two great grandchildren; eleven step grandchildren; four great step grandchildren; a brother, Elmer Moore of Oxnard, CA; and a sister, Edna West of Willard.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Spanfelner; and a grandson, Danny Kousma.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, where the funeral will be held at 7:00 PM with Pastor Bert McKelvey officiating.
