Imogene "Jean" Vanderpool, age 77, of Willard, Ohio passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Blossom Nursing Home in Willard. She was born on January 25, 1944 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Dora Back.

During Jean's high school years, she enjoyed playing softball and was a cheerleader. Her love of sports carried on throughout her life as she was a devoted Ohio State and Cleveland Brown's fan. Jean never knew a stranger and was loved by everyone.

A loving mother and grandmother, Jean enjoyed babysitting for local families. She also worked at Kent's Sporting Goods as a sewer. Jean was a true woman of faith who was a member of Ripley Chapel on Old State Road.

Jean is survived by two daughters, Angie (Keith) Wright of Willard and Christal (Sonny) Mendoza of Troy, MI; two sons, Robert Vanderpool of Mansfield and Brian (Mindy) Vanderpool of South Amherst, OH; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; 8 siblings, Jean's twin sister, Kathleen Francisco of Norwalk, Cletus (Louis) Back of Mansfield, Alice (Mike) Smith of Willard, Glenda (Rodney) Dye of Greenwich, Rosie (Dan) Wise of Norwalk, Jimmy Row of Greenwich, Tammy (Gary) Wilson of Newport Ritchie, Florida and Benny Row of Greenwich; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Vanderpool, who passed away on February 7, 2012; and sister, Orpha Waller.

Family and friends may visit at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Jean's funeral service will be held at Ripley Chapel, 4230 Old State Road, Willard, on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ricky Branham officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Greenwich. Memorial contributions can be made to Ripley Chapel or Southern Care Hospice.
