Ivan F. Beaty, age 88, resident of rural Greenwich, Ohio passed away on Monday, September 3, 2007 in the Hospice of North Central Ohio in Ashland. He was born on June 4, 1919 in Marion, Ohio to the late Chester and Florence (Vance) Beaty. Ivan had lived in Mansfield and moved to a farm in Adario, Ohio where he later graduated from Adario High School. He worked as a farmer and an autobody repairman, having owned his own body shop for many years. In his retirement years he worked with his son in the wood working business. He served as a Butler Township Trustee for many years as well. Mr. Beaty was a member of the Adario Methodist Church and a Past Master of the Shiloh Masonic Lodge #544 F&AM.
He was loved and dearly adored by his surviving family. His wife of 67 years, Gertrude (Echelbarger) Beaty; two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda and Alan Gano of Plymouth; and Jackie Dunn of Plymouth; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jackie Beaty of Greenwich; seven grandchildren, Scott Gano, Jennifer West, Juli Sterba, Kristin Dunn, Bob, Curt and Darrel Beaty; and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Vaughn Beaty.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Adario Methodist Church with Reverend Jim Gaston and Reverend Bob Beaty officiating. Burial will follow in Adario Cemetery.
