James C. Davis, age 79, resident of Plymouth, Ohio passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 13, 2005. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late James and Christine (Davis) Crockett and had been a life long Plymouth resident. He was a 1944 graduate of Plymouth High School and entered the US Army serving in Japan during the U.S. occupation after WWII. Mr. Davis retired as Vice President of the First National Bank of Shelby in Plymouth after 43 years of banking. He is a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Plymouth, the Plymouth American Legion, the Plymouth Lions Club and was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn (Winkler) Davis, who he wed September 6, 1947; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Diane Davis of McKinney, TX; Robert and Lisa Davis of Danville, CA; a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Dave Morgan of Lancaster, OH; seven grandchildren; and an aunt, Huldah (Davis) Frush of Ashland, OH.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, Charles and Grace (Watts) Davis.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Deacon Vincent Foos of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio. Memorial expressions can be made to the Plymouth Lions Club.
