James L. “Jake” Jacobs Jr., age 64, of Base Line Road, Plymouth, passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2004 at the MedCentral Hospital in Shelby following an unexpected heart failure. He was born March 20, 1939 in Shelby and has lived all of his life in Plymouth. He retired as a Customer Service Rep. for R.R. Donnelley in Willard. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Plymouth, vice-president of the Plymouth Lions Club. vice-president of the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce, co-chairman of the Silver King Festival, a member of the Shelby Masonic Lodge # 350 and a member of the Willard Moose Club and Willard Eagles Club.
He is survived by his wife Pat (McClary) Jacobs, who he married June 27, 1959; daughter and son-in-law, Jamie Lynn & Jim Woodward of Bellville; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey & Margie Jacobs of Plymouth; 4 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren; several cousins; aunt, Jenny Reed of Willard and uncle, Arthur Jacobs of Shelby.
He is preceeded in death by his parents, James L. Sr. and Opal J. (Cox) Jacobs.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, where the Funeral Service will be Friday at 1:00 P.M., with Rev. George Lambert officiating. Burial will be at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth. Memorials may be made to the Athletic Boosters Club for the new field house.
