James R. Vanderpool, age 48, resident of Shiloh passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at his home following a battle with cancer. Born January 5, 1956 in Willard he had been a Shiloh/Greenwich area resident all his life. A graduate of Plymouth High School, Jim was employed as a corrections officer with North Central Correctional Institution and had worked as a lumberjack for Kaple Lumber Company.
He is survived by two sons, Travis Vanderpool of Attica; and Dusty Vanderpool of Greenwich; two special grandchildren, Kyle and Shaiyen Vanderpool; his mother, Clara (Jones) Vanderpool of Shiloh; three sisters, Debbie Steffanus of Norwalk; Kathy Vanderpool of Shiloh; Carol Neighbors of Mansfield; two brothers, Larry Vanderpool of Galion; David Vanderpool of Shelby; nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Vanderpool.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Friday from 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh with Reverend Danny Caudill officiating. Memorial expressions can be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
