ames A. Runion, age 84, resident of Willard, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2006 in Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard. He was born on June 18, 1921 in Garrett, IN to the late Charles and Elva (Quinn) Runion and had been a resident of Willard all of his life. He was a Navy veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion in Garrett, IN and in Willard, Ohio. He retired as an engineer for the B & O Railroad after 42 years of service. He was one of the last remaining qualified steam engineers in Willard. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, gardening, fishing, and especially spending time with his family.
He is survived by three sons, Dennis Wayne and Blanche L. Runion of Willard, Roger Allan and Kris Runion of Decatur, Alabama, and Damon Earl Runion and Linda Barnett of Willard; 8 grandchildren, Scot and Amanda, Nathan, Seth, Aaron and Dallin, and Andrew and Kelly; and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Runion on November 19, 1996; his parents; and two brothers, Edward and Harry Runion.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 10:30 AM with Father Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Willard with military rights. Memorial expressions may be made to family. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.secorfuneralhome.com
